Terms and Conditions for Participation in the Algorithm and Code Training School (ACTS) Onsite Camp 2026.2

 

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (referred to as the "Terms") form an agreement between you, the participant ("Participant", "you"), and the organizer by Constructor University Bremen gGmbH and Constructor Knowledge AG (together referred to as "Organizer"), for participation in the Algorithm and Code Training School (ACTS) Camp in Germany 2026.2 ("Event"). The Event is designed for high school students who are at least 16 years old and under 20 years of age as of the Event start date aiming to excel in competitive programming.

By registering for the Event, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

  • Participation is open to high school students that are at least 16 years old and under 20 years of age as of the Event start date who demonstrate proficiency in competitive programming.
  • Participants must be within the age limits applicable to high school students in their respective countries.
  • Country Restrictions: The registration and participation in the Event are open to residents of all countries with the exception of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, Syria, or non-government controlled areas of Ukraine.
     

3. Registration and Participation

Registration Details: During the registration process, you will be asked to provide the following information:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Codeforces handle
  • Graduation year
  • Country
  • Age
  • Which track are you applying for?
    • Competitive programming
      • Please list key achievements in national and international olympiads and contests
    • Software engineering
      • Github profile
      • Please list key achievements in hackathons and similar competitions
  • How did you hear about us?
  • Are you considering studying at Constructor University Bremen with a full scholarship from the JetBrains Foundation?
  • Are you considering studying at Neapolis University Pafos with a full scholarship from the JetBrains Foundation?

You also have the option to subscribe to newsletters from the Organizer, JetBrains s.r.o., Neapolis University Pafos.
 

4. Selection Process

The selection process involves two stages:

  • Entrance Contest: Applicants will be required to participate in an entrance contest to assess their programming skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Personal Profile Evaluation: In addition to the entrance contest, applicants will be evaluated based on their personal profiles, including academic achievements.

Upon successful selection for the Event, participants will be notified via email and will be required to pay a non-refundable participation fee of 100 euros to secure their spot. The payment details will be provided in the notification email.

The Organizer, i.e., the academic committee, reserves the right to select participants based on their overall profile scoring (including, but not limited to, performance in the entrance contest and personal profiles), and its decision will be final.
 

5. Cheating and Misconduct Policy

Participants are expected to compete with integrity and respect towards fellow competitors, Organizers, and experts. Participants are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes respect, collaboration, and a positive learning environment.

Participants are expected to attend all classes and activities scheduled during the Event period. Any behavior deemed disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate by the Organizer may result in immediate dismissal from the Event without refund.

Any form of cheating, plagiarism, using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, or dishonest conduct — whether during the entrance contest, in-camp activities, or on associated platforms (including but not limited to Codeforces) — is strictly prohibited. Organizers reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including but not limited to:

  • Disqualification from contests or activities
  • Immediate revocation of the camp invitation
  • Permanent ban from future Algorithm and Code Training School Events
     

6. Personal Data

Collection and Use: The personal data collected during registration will be used solely for the purposes of organizing the Event, communicating important information, and, if consent is given, sending newsletters and updates related to the Organizer, JetBrains s.r.o., Neapolis University Pafos.

Consent Management: By submitting the registration form, participants acknowledge that their personal data will be processed in accordance with the purposes explained above. Participants can manage their consent preferences by contacting the Organizer directly or, where available, using an unsubscribe link in each email. Upon request, participants will be unsubscribed from future communications. More details can be found in JetBrains' Privacy Policy and the Organizer’s Privacy Policy.

Privacy Policy: The processing of personal data will adhere to the Organizer's privacy policies, ensuring the protection of participants' information.
 

7. Export Control

Any Participant must comply with all applicable laws and regulations with regard to economic sanctions, export controls, import regulations, restrictive measures, and trade embargoes (all herein referred to as “Sanctions”), including those of the European Union and the United States. Participants declare and warrant that they are not a person targeted by Sanctions, nor they are otherwise owned or controlled by or acting on behalf of any entity or person targeted by Sanctions. Participants agree that they will not download or otherwise export or re-export any related technical data directly or indirectly to any person targeted by Sanctions or download or otherwise use any data for any end use prohibited or restricted by Sanctions.

The Organizers shall not provide, directly or indirectly, any products, services, or funds to any person or entity that is subject to any sanctions or trade restrictions. The Organizers will immediately reject or exclude any participants ordinarily incident (such as located or residing) in the territories subject to export control or sanctions restrictions. The territories subject to export control or sanctions restrictions include North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Syria, Russian Federation, Belarus, Crimea region of Ukraine, territories of the so-called entities of Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republic or other annexed territories of Ukraine - such as Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Participants are required to cooperate with the Organizers in their efforts to ensure compliance with Export Control laws.
 

8. Liability

The Organizer will take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of participants during the Event.

However, the Organizer will not be held liable for any loss, injury, or damage to participants or their belongings during the Event period. This does not apply to damage caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of the organizer.
 

9. Photography and Media Consent

By participating in the Event, participants grant the Organizer the right to take photographs and videos for promotional and documentation purposes. If you don't want to be photographed, please send an email to the organizer.
 

10. Changes and Cancellations

Once participants have paid the participation fee and secured their spot in the Event, it is non-refundable under any circumstances, including, but not limited to, non-attendance due to illness or through the participant's own fault.

The participant's statutory rights remain unaffected by this.

The Organizer reserves the right to modify the Event's format, schedule, or rules, or cancel the Event, at any time without prior notice. Participants will be informed of any significant changes through their provided contact email.

In the event that the Event is canceled by the Organizer due to unforeseen circumstances or otherwise, Participants may be eligible for up to full refund of the participation fee, taking into account the interests of the Organizer. However, as a matter of general principle, if the Event is voluntarily canceled by the Organizer without a justified reason (e.g., not due to third party activities or events outside of its control), the Organizer will look to perform a full refund of the participation fee to the Participants.
 

11. Visa Process

Each participant is responsible for ensuring they have a valid passport and any applicable visas required to attend the Event. Participants must comply with all immigration authority requirements both before and during their stay in the country of the Event. Failure to meet these requirements may result in denial of entry or expulsion from the country, without entitlement to any refund of fees.

The Organizer reserves the right to decline an application if there are concerns about the participant’s intention or ability to comply with the immigration regulations.

Participants should contact their local Embassy, Consulate, or High Commission to confirm they are allowed to enter and participate in the Event. While the Organizer will endeavor to provide necessary support and documentation, it cannot be held responsible for decisions made by Embassies or immigration authorities regarding visa applications, entry, or extension requests, or any changes to applicable regulations.

The participation fee, as specified in the proforma or invoice, must be received in full before any supporting visa documentation is issued. Additional fees may apply for courier delivery of original documents, if requested.

If a participant’s visa application is denied, the participant must provide a copy of the official visa refusal letter to the Organizer.
 

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Federal Republic of Germany, with disputes subject to resolution in the applicable courts of Bremen, Germany.
 

13. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for the Event, participants acknowledge they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
