This May, Constructor University welcomed more than 200 participants from six continents to its campus in Bremen-Nord for the Bremen Life Sciences Meeting 2025. The event featured 108 research posters presented by students and researchers, 8 expert lectures across disciplines and representatives of 17 universities, research institutes, and industry partners. The get-together served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and inspiration in the life sciences.

The Bremen Life Sciences Meeting, now held for the fourth time, highlighted the diversity and productivity of the regional life sciences ecosystem, while firmly placing Constructor University at the center of its growth. With contributions ranging from molecular biology and catalysis to biophysics and cellular research, the program showcased the region’s interdisciplinary strength. Especially remarkable this year was the strong presence of other academic institutions nearby such as the University of Bremen, the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Oldenburg.

“This meeting is a celebration of what Bremen’s research community can achieve together. It’s about creating meaningful scientific dialogue – starting with our own students,” said Dr. Sebastian Springer, Professor of Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Constructor University, and member of the organizing team.

Undergraduate students played a visible and active role, presenting original research and engaging in peer and expert discussions. The event created a rare opportunity for students to network directly with international scientists, graduate programs, and industry professionals, all within their own university environment. “Completely new, refreshing experience… I got to share with everyone the project I’ve been working on this year, and I am really proud of it,” said Ioana Harabagiu, third year Biochemistry and Cell Biology Student at Constructor University.

The meeting reinforced Constructor University’s commitment to real-world scientific engagement, interdisciplinary learning, and academic excellence on an international scale.
