Empowering the next generation of changemakers: Constructor awards alumni and CUFA scholarship winners
Each year, the Beyond the Pond Alumni Association and the Constructor University Foundation of America recognize outstanding students from around the world who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and a commitment to making a difference. These generous awards, but also connect students to a community that believes in their potential and invests in their future. This year, we are proud to announce our four exceptional recipients: Maria Al Beyrouti, Cecilia Castillo Guzman, Azra Mour and Lukrecija Birskyte.
Alumni Association Scholarships
Funded by donations from Constructor University alumni and friends, the scholarships recognize first-year students who show promise both academically and personally. Each scholarship provides EUR 3,000 annually for three years and includes mentoring by an alum throughout the student’s studies.
This year’s recipients are Maria Al Beyrouti, Class of 2028, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering and originally from Syria, and Cecilia Castillo Guzman, Class of 2028, studying Chemistry and Biotechnology from Honduras. “These scholarships symbolize the power of our alumni community to open doors for the next generation,” said Ilya Kompasov, Head of Alumni at Constructor University. “They help gifted students realize their potential while fostering a spirit of giving back.”
Constructor University Foundation of America (CUFA) Scholarships
Based in the United States, CUFA supports Constructor University students through an endowment dedicated to advancing international education. Each scholarship is valued at EUR 5,000 for one year. The Ronny Wells Scholarship, named for one of the university’s founding fathers, was awarded to Azra Omur, Class of 2027, majoring in Robotics and Intelligent Systems.
The Claus Halle Scholarship, honoring CUFA’s founding chairman, went to Lukrecija Birskyte, Class of 2027, studying Industrial Engineering & Management. “I see the CUFA Scholarship as both an investment and an honor,” said Birskyte. “It inspires me to work harder, lead with integrity, and make a meaningful impact in my community.” Constructor University extends its gratitude to alumni and CUFA donors for their continued commitment to empowering talented students from around the world.
