Constructor University proudly celebrated the graduating Fellows from Kazakhstan on August 22, 2025, as part of the prestigious Bolashak International Scholarship program. This milestone marks the culmination of months of academic dedication, professional growth and international collaboration. The partnership plays a crucial role in not only strengthening the ties between Kazakhstan and the global academic community, but also in amplifying Constructor University’s presence in the country.

Established in 1993 by the President of Kazakhstan, the Bolashak International Scholarship provides Kazakh citizens opportunities for advanced study and professional training abroad. The program supports master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral studies, as well as professional development internships. It is widely recognized for shaping Kazakhstan’s future leaders and contributing to the country’s long-term development goals.

“We are proud to celebrate the graduation of the Bolashak Scholars at Constructor University. Their success reflects not only their individual dedication, but also the strength of our international academic community and the Bolashak Research Internship and Professional Training Program,” said Turgut Tülü, Chancellor of Constructor University. “With students from more than 120 nationalities, Constructor University is committed to building bridges across cultures and preparing the next generation of global leaders.”

“Coming from a background rooted in the structure–function paradigm, I was intrigued to realize that these often neglected protein segments function not just as passive linkers but as active participants in regulating genes,” Felix Jonas remarked.

The event opened with a welcome address from Prof. Dr. Thomas Auf der Heyde, Managing Director and VP of International Outreach, who congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments and highlighted the enthusiasm and collaboration they brought to Constructor University. “The feedback from supervisors and the team has been overwhelmingly positive,” he said. “We are confident our graduates will share their positive experiences with colleagues back in Kazakhstan.”

Dr. Irada Hageg, Head of International Outreach and Director for the Bolashak Program, also viewed the collaboration as a resounding success and was particularly moved by the commitment of graduates. “Their dedication, resilience and pursuit of excellence reflect the very spirit of this initiative. We believe they will carry forward the knowledge and skills gained here to make meaningful contributions in their fields and beyond.”

Lecturer Dr. Aleksei Kupriianov praised the Fellows’ commitment to research and learning. “It’s too late to give you more lectures,” Dr. Kupriianov quipped. “However, I will share two points that will help you in both your academic and personal lives: Never stop learning. If your hypothesis can’t be doubted, it’s a bad hypothesis.”
