HC Alumni 2024

A Weekend to Remember Homecoming 2024 saw over 80 alumni return to Bremen for a weekend filled with reconnection, memories, and celebration. The sunny weather perfectly matched the warm atmosphere, making the event a great success.

Friday Highlights
The day started with alumni attending classes, followed by "Wisdom Across the Eras," where they shared career insights with over 100 students. The evening included the Class of 2004 reception and a nostalgic bar night at TOS.

Saturday Festivities
Provost Werner Nau updated alumni on university developments during the Alumni All Hands meeting, which was followed by a scavenger hunt across campus. The Gala Dinner, attended by 130 guests, raised over €8000 for the Alumni Scholarship Fund. The evening also featured student performances, and the after-party continued the celebration well into the night.

Sunday Farewell
Sunday kicked off with a yoga session in the sunshine and ended with an info session on the Alumni Mentoring Program, where alumni and students connected to share tips and experiences.

Special Thanks

We want to thank everyone who made this year’s Homecoming a success, especially the Homecoming Committee:

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the alumni, students, and external donors who generously contributed artwork for the Gala Dinner auction: Maya Gutewort (2016), Humza Abid (2017), Esther Blagogee (2024), Ilya Kompasov, Omer Guzel (2025), Matilda Milisavljevic (2025), and Ksenia Chekashkina.

A special thanks goes to Dominik Kundel and Joshi Frenster for their exceptional hosting of the gala.

Looking forward to Homecoming 2025, let's continue supporting our university and its students!

What did you like BEST about the event?

What were your favorite events and activities?

“The party, the student-alumni networking event, and the All Hands session were great. It was great that student tickets to the party were limited, it felt reasonably crowded and everyone appreciated that.”
“The Gala Dinner, auction, and the mingling with so many successful people and their different stories.”
“The scavenger hunt was fun, but a bit too time-based. There should be some flexibility if you're a bit late to one site. I also really liked the basement tour."

What did you enjoy most about the networking and student interaction?

"REALLY enjoyed the networking with the students. I think it was a great success! I got lots of new LinkedIn connections that were eager and curious.”
“The Wisdom Across the Eras networking was absolutely great. It was key to get to meet the students in a meaningful way. I was once in that position and did not know where to go to find the answer to so many questions.”

What did you value most about the people and community?

"Meeting alumni I didn’t know before.”
“Mingling with so many successful people and hearing their different stories.”
“Getting together with friends.”
