Constructor Knowledge Labs (CKL) and TOPAS are hosting an Autonomous Systems Meetup, bringing together researchers, engineers, and enthusiasts to explore the cutting edge of AI-driven mobility.

The event will feature talks and open discussion designed to spark the conversations that move the field forward. Speakers include Ilia Shimchik, Lead of the Autonomous Racing Team, and Prof. Dr. Andreas Birk, Professor of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Constructor University.

From TOPAS, Matthias Rick, Technical Lead for Autonomous Systems, will share insights from industry. Based in Bremen, TOPAS Industriemathematik Innovation develops innovative automation solutions and, in collaboration with University of Bremen, translates cutting-edge research into customized real-world systems.

Ilia Shimchik

Ilia Shimchik is the Team Principal of Constructor Racing, leading cutting-edge efforts in autonomous mobility, high-speed racing, and robotics innovation. He previously guided the team to championship success in Roborace and has extensive experience collaborating with automotive OEMs, research institutions, and technology partners in advancing autonomous racing systems.

Matthias Rick

Matthias Rick is Technical Lead for autonomous driving projects at TOPAS, where he oversees the development and implementation of innovative autonomous mobility solutions.

Andreas Birk

Dr. Andreas Birk is Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Constructor University, where he leads robotics research. His work focuses on autonomous systems, combining artificial intelligence, perception, and robotics. He earned his doctorate from Saarland University and has received multiple awards in international robotics competitions, including the RoboCup championships.
