Constructor University continued its annual tradition of hosting Unigames, a highly anticipated myriad of student-led athletic events. As usual, it took place in the last week of September. As is tradition, before every season, the respective colleges, College 3, Nordmetall, Mercator, and Krupp, host their respective students to a social event where everyone can design their T-shirt for the upcoming games. It was an excellent opportunity for students to bond with members of their college for freshies to create core memories. Being a Nordie myself, I was present at the Nordmetall common room, and it was delightful to witness everyone coming together to celebrate and show support for our college.

Constructor University took a different approach this time around when it came to deciding the winner of the Games. Rather than the college with the most points across all games being declared as a winner, the winner would be decided by the college that found the most amount of miniature yellow ducks scattered around campus. As you can imagine, people were out and about searching through leaves, tree roots and under bushes to find these ducks. My friend and I searched for an hour before finding one miniature yellow duck by the BBQ area in Krupp.

This year’s games included Capture the Duck, Game of Thrones (musical chairs), Tug of War, Hockey Relay, Light Reaction, and, last but not least, Floor is Lava. It was truly amazing to see how much team sports and collaboration the games brought between colleges on campus. To everyone’s surprise, Nord was in the lead for most of the games. What can I say? We’ve got amazing people on our side. After the last game, Floor is Lava, the winning team was announced. Mercator college came in last, C3 college came in third place, Krupp in second, and Nordmetall came in first for finding the most ducks.
